Job overview

The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a tertiary cardiac provider for the people of Lancashire & Cumbria. The centre has well-established invasive and non-invasive services covering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, these include: Electrocardiography (ECG), blood pressure & ECG holters, Exercise Stress testing, Echocardiography, Pacemaker & Blackout clinics.

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Cardiac Physiologist in the Cardiac Investigations Unit. The role is to provide a comprehensive Electrocardiogram (ECG) service to inpatients and outpatients of the trust and assist the cardiac physiologist with non-invasive services. We are looking to recruit a friendly and adaptable member of staff to join our department

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of a small team working  together as a unit. The main duties are to perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs in outpatient clinic and inpatient settings. The role is often physically demanding.

They will work closely with the cardiac physiologist, to support the non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures such as exercise testing and tilt table testing. They also support the blackout clinic to provide ECG and BP diagnostics as part of the one-stop clinic.   They will be responsible for  running their own clinics for holter monitoring for both ECG & BP.
