Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly-skilled Assistant Administration Manager to join our team. This role will cover the Arthur South Day Procedure Unit providing the Admin Manager with support, and will work closely with our ward, pre-operative and theatre teams.

The Assistant Administration Manager is a busy and varied role, providing support to a large team of admin and clerical staff. You will need to be people-focused, flexible and adaptable. In return we offer a fantastic opportunity to develop within your role, and work with our brilliant teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the administrative and clerical staff, and for ensuring the smooth running of the Day Procedure Unit in relation to its administrative functions. This will include Human Resources tasks – from recruitment and sickness management to appraisals.

The post holder will work with the Administration Manager to review and improve our administrative systems and introduce procedures to enhance our patient pathways and experience. The successful candidate will monitor workload and ensure activity targets are monitored and met, and that patient management is in line with the patient access policy. Line management experience and understanding of 18 Week targets and validation would be beneficial.

1 The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the administrative staff for the Day Procedure Unit and Pre-operative Assessment ensuring the smooth running of the department in relation to its administrative function.
