Eligibility for this apprenticeship
- Applicants 18 years old or over.
- Must have been resident in the UK / EU for the last 3 years (evidence needs to be provided)
- If you already hold this level or higher level qualification in the same field, you are not eligible to apply for this position.
- Continuation in the post will be subject to successful enrolment onto the apprenticeship within the first three months of employment, and will also be subject to you remaining on the course and successful completion.
The post holder will provide support and have responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of the Community Childrens Nursing Team (CCNT), upholding professionalism and confidentiality in their role. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the CCNT systems. This will include management of information, electronic records, diary entries, correspondence and reports. The ability to manage your own work load, highly organised and to use initiative is essential in this role.
Good written and verbal communication skills are vital for this position, as the post holder will be the first point of contact with families and other professionals and agencies.

Main duties of the job
- To work closely within the CCN Team providing a wide range of administrative functions for the department.
- To provide a good friendly service within the department to families and nursing staff using excellent communication skills.
- To maintain efficient and records dealing appropriately with correspondence.
- To support and assist the nursing team with various projects including research and collation of information for caseload audits and creating new resources.
- To assist with the maintenance of equipment and test materials, plus liaising with medical electronics on the purchase, servicing and decontamination of medical equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining sufficient supplies of equipment and medical supplies for children on the caseloads.
- To ensure and take responsibility for maintaining confidentiality of all correspondence and information that relates to patients and staff.
- Maintaining and auditing stationery and stock levels and placing replenishment orders.
- To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
