Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) team as a Surveillance Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support our work in improving antimicrobial use and reducing antimicrobial resistance across the Trust.

As part of the AMS team, you will play a vital role in collecting and inputting clinical data for audits and national reporting, helping us deliver our annual programme of work. You will work closely with ward teams, pharmacy, microbiology, and infection prevention colleagues to ensure accurate data collection and promote good antimicrobial stewardship practices.

This post will be an integral member of the AMS team working under the guidance of the Trust Consultant Antimicrobial Pharmacist and alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes a microbiologist, 2 advanced specialist pharmacists and a data analyst.

Support and development opportunities will be provided to build your skills in data collection, audit methodology, antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and management.

Main duties of the job

To accurately collect and input clinical information for a range of antimicrobial stewardship audits.  The information will be collected from clinical records, speaking with the ward nurses and using a variety of clinical electronic resources.
