The post holder will be expected to work alone or with other Ambulance Care Assistants to transport patients to and from a variety of locations.
As a key member of the transport team, you will be assisting in the delivery of high quality and effective care and the transportation of patients in line with pre-agreed standard operating procedures in line with their scope of practice and associated training. (Team Managers will complete risk assessments and provide instruction in all complex cases).
To ensure that the needs of all patients and relatives are met without delay acting at all times in a courteous and sympathetic manner, being the patients advocate.
You will be required to be physically fit and able to support the transfer of, and where on limited occasions, the lifting of patients as part of their transport to and from their destination. This may include lifting both up and downstairs on a shift basis.
