
Are you an experienced, compassionate, registered Mental Health Nurse looking to join our new Allocate on Arrival team? The role will require a level of flexibility to support Mental Health inpatient wards and units according to service needs. This includes: Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, Adult and Older persons Acute Assessment and Treatment wards, and Health Based Place of Safety.
As the Allocate on Arrival Practitioner, you will need to have clinical experience, skills and willingness to work flexibly, taking charge and responsibility for leading patient care on shift, across a variety of inpatient clinical environments, who bring a positive attitude and ability to adapt and respond to working in this way.
You will be responsible for patient safety through knowledge of systems, legal requirements and understanding of litigation. Recognising, assessing and managing risk across the immediate and wider working environment and make appropriate decision autonomously ensuring statutory requirements are met.
The Allocate on Arrival Practitioner role is a full-time post. We would welcome part time applicants with a minimum 22.5 hours. The shift patterns cover 24-hour services, which includes nights, weekends and public holidays at enhanced rates. We promote a happy work life balance through flexible hours, which can be discussed further at interview stage. Being a driver is essential for this role.
You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist treatment and care to people on an allocated caseload; promoting independence and autonomy; working within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be required to advance your own clinical knowledge, skill and competence based on current evidence through advanced educational programmes.
You will provide highly specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
You will devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately and plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
You must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information in difficult situations using de-escalation, mediation, resolution and professional Duty of Candour.
You will evaluate care, taking appropriate action leading to improvement in quality standards through clinical audit, root cause analysis and dealing with complaints.
Successful completion of PMVA training is an essential requirement for this role.
