Job overview

You will contribute to and be responsible for core aspects of the provision of specialist speech and language therapy (SLT) services within the East of England Cleft Lip and Palate Network. You will provide highly specialist assessment, differential diagnosis and management to the paediatric and adult cleft lip and palate and non-cleft velopharyngeal dysfunction caseload, prioritising needs and managing workload independently.

Main duties of the job

You will independently fulfil the specialist SLT role in multi- and uni-disciplinary clinics across the regional network including the palate investigation clinic and designated outreach clinics. You will actively contribute to the teaching/training of students and other professionals as well as audit and research projects within the area of specialism. You will also act as a specialist advice resource for speech and language therapists (SLTs) and other professionals across the region.

You will provide clinical cross-cover for other specialist SLTs and contribute to SLT representation at relevant forums. You will take delegated responsibility for aspects of service development and monitoring within the context of the wider multidisciplinary cleft network, as required.
