The multidisciplinary team includes this podiatry post, an Advanced Practitioner, 10 specialist nurses, two specialist pharmacists, two specialist physiotherapy advanced practitioners, and a specialist occupational therapist. The Rheumatology clinics will be primarily based at Withington and Trafford hospitals. Responsibilities will include triage of referrals from Rheumatology colleagues via electronic patient record and review of new and review patients working in clinic along- side consultants. The majority of patients referred for review have inflammatory arthritis but some patients with connective tissue disease and vasculitis may also be referred.
In the community the post holder will be working alongside other highly experienced podiatrists and will have the knowledge and skills to assess and manage adults with rheumatoid arthritis and other connective disorders, including diabetes in community settings. We also encourage development of colleagues such as undertaking or updating non-medical prescriber qualifications and acquisition of new skills in diagnostic requests and imaging.
