An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead an established First Contact Physiotherapy Service across Dundee as well as provide advanced specialist physiotherapy intervention in our MSK Outpatient Department based primarily within Kings Cross Health & Community Care Centre, GP practices across Dundee and at times Ninewells Hospital. We are seeking high quality compassionate leader who will support the department to continue growing and transforming the workforce in a supportive and inclusive culture
With increasing demands on GP time for MSK conditions, there is a drive to deliver preventative and anticipatory healthcare at the point of need, and as such the main part of this role will be to ensure that the first point of contact for patients attending the GP practice with an MSK condition happens in a timely manner, at the right locations and carried out by well-trained and supported staff.
Your working week will consist of a mix of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. Your clinical sessions will be split between MSK and FCP clinics. Non-clinical duties include, but are not limited to, completing service measure reports, representing the FCP service at local stake holder events and meetings, and supervision of more junior members of staff. You will form part of the wider Outpatient Physiotherapy leadership team and will both support and be supported by other members of this team
As Clinical Lead you will posses excellent communication skills, developed teaching skills, and leadership qualities. You will have a proven record of leading and effectively managing change, service development and extensive professional & clinical experience at a senior level. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of best practice / clinical guidelines / standards across general musculoskeletal condition
Dundee Physiotherapy Service is part of an award winning Tayside wide musculoskeletal team leading the way in service development. Ongoing personal and professional development is essential to provide a quality service and is supported through CPD workshops, appraisals, in-service training and involvement within the Tayside Practice Development Network. Our clinicians are supported in developing the skills required to deliver quality care to our patients. This includes development of injection therapy, radiographic imaging and non-medical independent prescribing.
