We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and flexible Paediatric Physiotherapist with experience in paediatric respiratory to join the Paediatric long term respiratory physiotherapy service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 7 Paediatric Physiotherapist working into Paediatric Respiratory within the  Acute Paediatric Physiotherapy team.  Candidates should have extensive paediatric physiotherapy experience and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as the joint clinical lead alongside an existing Band 8a, Band 7 and Band 6 team to provide highly specialised physiotherapy care within the paediatric long term respiratory service based at the Great North Children's Hospital. They will work as part of a regional speciality team to deliver care to complex respiratory patients (including cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and PCD) as inpatients, outpatients, on home visits and in clinics. This is a well-established team who work collaboratively with an extensive and supportive MDT.

Roles and responsibilities

  • To be an active member of the appropriate specialty MDTs within the directorate and wider Trust.
  • To provide highly specialised physiotherapy care to complex long term respiratory patients across a range of settings whilst supporting parents and caregivers.
  • To support and develop students, Band 5 and Band 6 members of staff.
  • To be responsible for own continued professional development and assist CPD of other members of the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams.
  • To be part of the emergency duty on-call and weekend rota and be to be available in an advisory capacity for on-call physiotherapists out of hours, when required.
