Acute Oncology (AO) is a developing speciality within South East Wales. This is an fantastic and exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join the highly performing Acute Oncology Service (AOS) at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The Acute Oncology Service supports cancer patients who are admitted to hospital who are unwell with a complication of their cancer, side effects of their cancer treatment or who have a new diagnosis of cancer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated ANP to deliver excellent clinical and patient outcomes across both main UHB sites working as a core member of the AO team. The post-holder will provide exceptional quality, person centred care; to support early, timely and effective care for patients presenting with complications of cancer/treatment and MUO/CUP.
The successful candidate will be required to work independently and autonomously as well as working collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team. You will also lead the Acute Oncology Service Clinical Nurse Specialist team. You will demonstrate resilience, leadership and a professional drive with a clear commitment in developing the services we provide.
You will provide expert advice, instigate investigations, undertake advanced procedures and implement patient care as appropriate. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in; enhancing patient experience, assuring clinical governance, and audit. You will also be involved in providing specialist advice and education to professionals for the management and treatment of patients
