We are seeking an Advanced Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to continue to lead and develop our frailty pathway within the East Coast inpatient services at Scarborough Hospital. This is a pivotal role for a clinician who can provide highly specialist assessment, treatment, and leadership for patients with complex physical, cognitive, psychological, behavioural, and social needs.

You will act as the Lead Specialist Clinician for Frailty shaping service development and supporting the wider occupational therapy workforce to deliver  evidence‑based care. This includes providing expert advice, supervision and training to colleagues and students, as well as contributing to research, audit, and service evaluation.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical standards, champion innovation, and embed high‑quality occupational therapy practice across the frailty pathway.

We are looking for someone who has some specialist experience in frailty or a related clinical area and can demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and the ability to manage complex presentations.

Main duties of the job

  • Managing a highly complex clinical caseload using advanced clinical reasoning and occupation‑focused assessment.
  • Leading specialist practice in frailty, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence‑based care.
  • Acting as a resource for highly specialist advice across the Trust.
  • Providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to staff and students.
  • Driving service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to research, audit, and evaluation activities.
  • Communicating complex and sensitive information with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across organisational boundaries
