Job overview

You will work to support the effective clinical and non-clinical operation of the Slough Memory Clinic by providing necessary administrative support and skills as needed. You will also provide reception duties as required, responding to callers by telephone or in person, in a friendly and professional manner and accurately relay messages for team members.

Your role in the Memory Clinic will require you to support requirements by undertaking a variety of administration and clerical tasks e.g. typing and word processing, input information on RIO, Scan papers to provide an electronic version of the documents when required, undertake any photocopying, collating and distribution of documents as required and ensure that information provided to patients and carers are up to date and in stock.

Your base would be Upton Hospital where we have access to free parking facilities, staff room and a friendly and welcoming team. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am -5pm.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be based at Slough Memory Clinic, Upton Hospital and provide reception cover for patients and carers who visit the memory clinic for appointments/ groups or other activities.
  • As part of the wider administration team for the Older Adult Mental Health Service, you will maintain all office systems, both electronic and hard copy, across the service, ensuring that services run smoothly through having well planned and organised administrative systems and processes in place

  • Previous knowledge and experience of working in an office and/or customer care    environment, undertaking a full range of administrative duties, including minute-taking
  • Knowledge and experience of using a variety of software programmes/packages
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to work unsupervised and on own initiative, managing own workload
  • Good interpersonal, communication and reporting skills
