Job summary

Main duties of the job

  • Complete administration tasks for nominated medic
  • Demonstrate effective IT skills to undertake a variety of administration tasks such as diary management, coordination of meetings, initiating responses to routine correspondence, gathering and presenting data.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas and take formal minutes.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing mail, including e-mail.
  • Use tact and discretion where necessary and ensure confidentiality is maintained.
  • Undertake small-scale project work, as required.
  • Use ESR to oversee the effective running of the department.
  • Lead, line-manage and coordinate administration staff across the department, including carrying out supervision and appraisals
  • Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Use your initiative and take responsibility for yourself and the quality of your work and the service you provide to patients, colleagues and stakeholders.
