An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cancer Services Directorate for an enthusiastic, positive, dynamic and proactive individual to join the team as an Administration Manager to help provide robust and consistent line management, operational management and HR support to our administrative workforce, whilst working closely with the directorate management team to help deliver transformational change and improve day to day performance.

Main duties of the job

This role provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to support the Cancer Services Directorate in the line management of administrative staff in the following departments:

  • MDT Team
  • Cancer Pathway Navigators
  • Oncology
  • Haematology
  • Palliative Care

The successful candidate will also work with the administrative teams and the Deputy General Manager to support operational functions within the directorate such as overseeing recruitment, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures, lead and manage specific projects and have oversight of all administration tasks.

In addition to these responsibilities the successful candidate will also work closely with the administrative teams and Deputy General Manager to deliver specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure departments within the directorate are working in line with national and local guidance to facilitate high quality care. These KPIs include:

  • Cancer performance - including 28 day and 62 day cancer pathway targets
  • RTT and 52 weeks targets
  • Data Quality
  • Cancer Services workforce planning
  • HR KPI’s such as; sickness; staff turnover; appraisals; bank spend
