Applications are invited from qualified and experienced administration candidates to join our busy administration teams.  We currently have the following Administration Assistant vacancies based in the following teams:-

Gateshead Community Treatment Team based at Lobley Hill Clinic, Gateshead, NE11 0AL.  (Postholder will be required at times to be based at Dryden Road Clinic, 136 Dryden Road, Gateshead NE9 5BY and at Keegan Court, Grassbanks, Gateshead, NE10 8DX)

Hours:  37.5hrs (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)

Newcastle North-East Community Treatment Team based at Molineux NHS Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1SG.

Please note the team is relocating to a new base at Benton House 136 Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 1QE date to be confirmed in 2025.

Hours:  25hrs (Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm) Fixed term to December 2025 (may be extended)

These are very busy services and the successful post holder will be a member of the admin team to support the multi-disciplinary clinical teams to provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service at all times. The post holder must facilitate excellent customer service and be confident in dealing with service users face to face as well as on the telephone.

Main duties of the job

Candidates must have proven recent 12 month experience of the following:

  • Experience in  working in a customer / patient  focused environment (face to face/telephone/reception)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Database inputting
  • Electronic filing systems
  • Microsoft word/excel/powerpoint/office packages including email
  • Fast, accurate typing/keyboard skills
  • Typing letters
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
  • Well organised and structured
  • Ability to change tasks at short notice
  • Reliable and punctual
  • The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to  participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.

You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification. If you do not meet this criteria you will not be shortlisted.
