Applications are invited for the post of Admin Coordinator at University College London Hospitals based at Westmoreland Street Hospital. The ideal candidate will be, motivated and enthusiastic, with a passion for high quality patient care, as well as the ability to work under pressure as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
This role is responsible for coordinating the cystectomy pathway and ensuring patients are booked promptly. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and conscientious person to be part of a busy team providing administrative support to cancer service.
The successful candidate must have experience working as an administrator in an NHS or private organisation, as well as excellent communication skills, and be able to take instruction from several sources. The candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload and work on their own initiative
As Admin coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating patiets coming through the cystectomy pathway, ensuring their outpatient appointments and surgical admissions are booked promptly according to clinical guidance. You will be expected to book patients appropriately within tight timeframes, maintaining full oversight of demand and capacity of the service. You will be expected to work flexibly covering other team members as needed.
You will be able to suggest ways to increase quality and service improvements and evaluate these in collaboration with your admin team leader.
You will be able to create and validate record keeping processes.
You will work closely with the UroOncology admin and clinical team to ensure that the service runs efficiently and meets cancer waiting time targets.
The main tasks this post-holder will carry out are: • Booking appointments and surgical admissions in a timely manner and promptly flagging any capacity issues • Communicating effectively with patients when booking their appointments • Responding to queries via telephone and email • Showing compassion and empathy for patients when speaking with them • Maintaining communication with relevant clinicians, to ensure they are supported and aware of any patient concerns. • Covering other admin team members when they are absent, as needed
