Job summary

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to work a 24hr shift system so to ensure clinical leadership is provided across the day and night. You will also be supported to gain invaluable experience and grow in confidence as part in our duty senior nurse rota, taking lead on site responsibility for the acute wards and older peoples wards.

You will work as part of the ward management team to provide strong clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team.

You will demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the ward and continue to drive the philosophy of acute services and the local service provision.

You will be responsible and accountable for the high quality standards within the work of the team through completion of audits and supervisions.

You will work actively work as an effective member of the team.

You will always act as a positive and professional role model for junior staff and other colleagues.

You will oversee and support junior members of staff in implementing planned treatment and care.

You will support the Ward Manager and Lead nurse in carrying out their duties.
