To provide a specialised administration service that is comprehensive and confidential in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures. To act as a primary source of advice and offer expert guidance in terms of coordination of all patient’s pathway queries in accordance with Trust Policy and in line with National Standards, in particularly the Referral To Treatment (RTT) target.
You will have expert knowledge of 18 weeks RTT rules, planned rules, and Post RTT follow up rules and use them to manage all patient pathways in line with National and local guidance & policies.
You will be responsible for using this expertise to be the front-line Trust RTT experts and provide relevant support in these fields to keep staff updated and support all staff.
Ensure Trust systems are updated with the correct RTT and non-RTT status codes by interpreting the clinic letters to the correct code – identifying and escalating key areas and trends to ensure high data quality is maintained.
To ensure the highest level of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, patient focused and knowledgeable point of contact.
To support, analyse, investigate, validate & monitor the Trusts Access Performance escalating breaching patients for action and to identify where backlogs are growing.
To be responsible for validating all measures of RTT inc. admitted, non-admitted, incomplete and confirming whether the patient breached or is in a current breach position.
As part of validation, you will also be responsible for validating the month end files for all above RTT Access measures including 6-week diagnostic measures and cancelled operations inc the 28 day standard of re-booking.
To be responsible for tracking, monitoring, analysing and escalating all patients within the Trust to achieve all Access targets particularly RTT patients.
To equally track, monitor, analyse and escalate patients identified in the Planned & Post RTT category, ensuring these patients are legitimately in the correct category and have the correct ‘see by’ dates and seen at the clinically appropriate time.
To provide expertise in the field of RTT as part of a team in the proactive RTT management of the patient pathway, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.
To be responsible for identifying areas & staff who require RTT Training on rules and coding and where necessary provide staff with support via delivery of patient pathway refresher courses Trust wide.
To provide a consistent approach across the Trust by following and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which will describe how the functions of this role will be carried out along with the timescales to be adhered to.
Responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and guidance of the Access Support Officers and the work produced therein.
Training and supervision of any new starters within the Access Team &/or supporting the Trusts Training Team Manager in delivering on the job training for Divisional Administration staff.
