“Step up your clinical skills– join our Emergency Operations Centre Clinical team and shape urgent and emergency care from the first call.”

We’re looking for experienced and compassionate clinicians to join our Clinical team in the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our “virtual care” model — providing remote clinical assessment, triage and advice to ensure patients get the right care at the right time.

This post offers a development pathway for experienced and confident Band 5 Adult Nurses ready to progress to Band 6, with full training and ongoing support, as well as established band 6 paramedics & nurses.

If you are successfully shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an online clinical assessment on Wednesday 24th June 2026. If successful you will then be invited to a face to face interview on Thursday 9th July  2026.

Main duties of the job

Provide remote clinical assessments, onwards referrals or home management advice using clinical decision support software and other IT systems for patients presenting to the 999 service.

Support and coach Emergency Medical Advisors (EMAs) and dispatch teams within the EOC (Ambulance resource dispatch teams).

Clinically assess, prioritise and manage incidents to ensure patient safety and appropriate allocation of resources.

Communicate effectively with patients, carers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, using negotiation skills as required to coordinate the best care and facilitate referrals as appropriate.

Act as a point of clinical leadership and decision-making within the EOC, including safeguarding and capacity/consent decisions.

Failure to attend will result in your employment with the trust being terminated.

Please note you will be required to be flexible during your mentoring period as we are unable to plan shifts ahead of time.

Due to licence requirements, you must pass all assessments during your training to pass the course.
