248159 Sexual Health Nurse (Band 6)

Sexual Health Dumfries and Galloway (D&G) is an innovative and expanding service within NHS D&G. We are looking to recruit an experienced sexual health nurse to join our team.

The post holder will manage clients within the department in all aspects of sexual health including, contraception, sexually transmitted infections and participate in partner notification.

The successful applicant will be a Registered General Nurse / Midwife, possess a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health Care, have experience of working within the sexual health setting and ideally hold a NMP qualification or be willing to undertake the qualification.

They will also require: -

• Excellent communications skills
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills
• A non judgemental attitude
• A high degree of motivation towards CPD
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Flexible working

There will be support provided by senior clinical staff as required.

This role may be offered on a job share basis and more than one candidate may be appointed to ensure all hours are covered. Applicants can apply for between 7.5 and 30 hours per week and should specify their preferred number of hours within their application.
