We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Children or Neonatal Nurse to lead and develop the Children’s Nursing agenda across NHS Dumfries & Galloway. This role works closely with the Senior Advanced Nurse practitioner and Clinical Director; it offers a diverse range of clinical and leadership opportunities as we develop our services going forward and is a key member of the directorate senior leadership team.
Based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality children’s nursing care within both hospital and community settings with services spanning a wide geographical area from Langholm in the East to Stranraer and the surrounding region in the West. offering diverse clinical and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities include
• Providing senior leadership for paediatric, neonatal and respite nursing teams.
• Lead service development, quality improvement and clinical governance.
• Work collaboratively with the senior managers and multidisciplinary teams, including with partners from the wider health and social care system
• Support workforce development, education and staff wellbeing.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision‑making across Children’s Services.
We are looking for
A registered children’s nurse with significant leadership experience and a passion for developing services alongside demonstrable skills in people development, change management and service improvement.
A commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care is essential.
