We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated dental therapist to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide patient-centred clinical dental duties in NHS Dumfries & Galloway. This unique opportunity will see the post holder providing the full range of therapist and hygienist services, as outlined in the General Dental Council (GDC) scope of practice, to patients throughout the region.
Working to and keeping up to date with developments, scope of practice of DCPs and Health & Safety will be an important aspect of this post. The ability to communicate effectively while having the ability to deal with difficult situations or patients in a positive manner will be essential. Relevant clinical experience and GDC registration as a dental therapist is essential.
This exciting full time post is multi based, covering in Dumfries, Sanquhar and Castle Douglas however there is scope for review on this and other work patterns will be considered.
Driving is essential due to this post being multi based.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
