"I started as a back shift Domestic Assistant at the old DGRI and worked as a chamber maid at a local hotel.
I was promoted to Night Duty Manager resigned from my Domestic Back shift.I really missed the people and the department.
In 2002 I saw an advert for an NHS Hotel Services Supervisor.I now had the skills and experience required for this post and relished the thought of being back home at old DGRI.I worked as a Support Services Supervisor for 20 years. I love being a Supervisor working with Staff and patients based in DGRI.
In 2022 a Support Services Managers post was advertised. I was comfortable in my Supervisory role, it was daunting applying but I was ready for a new challenge.
I am immensely proud of the part I now play in managing our recruitment process. Our staff are our most important resource.”

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
