An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates & Property Services Department, for an Estates Maintenance Craftsperson Plumber. The successful applicant based within the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer will provide both reactive and planned maintenance on a wide variety of plant and equipment across a number of Board Properties.
Recognised and registered EITB or CITB (or equivalent) craft apprenticeship. Plus an HNC/ONC/BTEC Building and Engineering Services (Plumbing) Or City & Guilds 596 Advanced Craft Certificate in both: Sanitary Plumbing And Installation & Maintenance of Domestic Heating Systems & Appliances Or Equivalent Approved Qualification, or in special circumstances equivalent experience, and Experience and Training, which will be appropriate to satisfy the necessary academic standards, required.
The post holder will act as a fully trained and certificated Maintenance Plumber to provide plumbing services to meet the needs of the Estate service provision. To install, modify, repair and maintain plumbing equipment and systems within a number of Board properties in order that the equipment can carry out its intended purpose safely, and to ensure the smooth operation of the mechanical systems within the Organisation.
A flexible approach to work is necessary as variations to the standard working week may be required in order to meet the needs of the service. There will be a requirement for the post holder to participate in shift working and in the out of hour’s on-call rota.
