Pharmacy and Medicines; Flourishing in Fife.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our talented team at NHS Fife.
We are one of the most dynamic health boards in Scotland, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 370,000 across the Kingdom of Fife. We are rooted in the communities we serve and are driven by our vision to improve the health of our population by developing integrated healthcare services delivered thorough our highly talented and committed workforce.
We work with local people and partners across health, social care, and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
We can only do this with great staff who are encouraged and supported, which is why we invest in them, listen to them, make sure we are representative of our populations and that we foster their health and wellbeing.
We now require an exceptional Deputy Director of Pharmacy and Medicines, to fulfil this key senior leadership role which is responsible for the pharmaceutical care delivery services in the Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate in NHS Fife. The Directorate provides integrated pharmacy services across acute, community and primary care settings and the Pharmacy Senior Leadership team’s portfolios are reflective of the integration across our Directorate. Key priorities for the Directorate include implementation of the Digital Medicines programme, High Risk Medicines Safety programme and transformation of hospital pharmacy clinical and supply services.
As an inspirational team leader, you will help to guide a highly engaged team to transform the way we deliver pharmacy services in line with our core values of dignity and respect; care and compassion; openness, honesty, and responsibility; and quality and teamwork.
Reporting to NHS Fife’s current Acting Director of Pharmacy and Medicines, the post holder will also be expected to develop strong collaborative working relationships across the organisation to lead transformation across health and care services. This is vitally important to how we deliver future whole system health and care services to support people across Fife.
This post based at the Victoria Hospital, in Kirkcaldy, is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager to provide dynamic strategic direction and operational leadership, in the planning, management and provision of our Pharmacy services.
If you are excited by the prospect of joining one of NHS Scotland’s most dynamic and forward-thinking Boards, and by the opportunity to shape the workforce of the future, we would love to hear from you.
For an informal enquiries, please contact Kymm Dingwall, Executive Assistant to the Director of Pharmacy and Medicines on 01383 674169 or email kymm.dingwall@nhs.scot.
To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.
For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.
We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
