Do you have clinical research experience in multiple research specialities with  a proven track record of increasing research participation in Early Phase clinical research?  Are you passionate about leadership and staff professional development ?

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic  Early Phase Research Matron to join our growing and diverse research delivery service  in the NIHR St George's CRF.

You will be responsible for the oversight of the Early Phase research portfolio in the Trust and multiple research teams spanning diverse medical specialities such as  Hepatology, Neurology, Vaccines and Paediatrics  amongst others.  Focus will be on growth of early phase research recruitment, Quality Assurance, PPIE and staff development in this area.

This is a senior post within the Trust’s Research Nursing & Midwifery  structure, with a high level of autonomy and freedom to act and your role will be pivotal in creating a safe, welcoming environment for  patients participating in clinical research.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide professional nursing leadership and management for clinical research teams comprising research nurses and clinical research administration staff working on clinical  trials across the Trust.

They will assist the Head of Research Nursing in ensuring the safe and  ethical implementation of clinical research studies in accordance with Trust policies, International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice, EU Clinical Trials Directives and Research Governance Framework.

The post holder will ensure a quality, customer focused service to all trial participants based on expert practice and act as a role model, working within clinical research, to facilitate the aims of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) at a local level.
