The Women & Girls Health Promotion Specialist Nurse Advisor is a new senior nursing position within Sexual Health and HIV Services. This role combines specialised clinical practice with health promotion and service development. The individual in this position is responsible for improving sexual and reproductive health outcomes for women and girls in Camden and the larger North Central London area through community outreach, education, and the provision of specialised sexual and reproductive health care.

- DFSRH / DCSRH
- LOC for SDI's.
- Experience at Band 6 level in Sexual & Reproductive Health
- Excellent communication skills.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Deliver specialist sexual and reproductive healthcare, including contraception advice, STI screening, and health promotion interventions.
- Lead community outreach programmes aimed at improving menstrual health, contraception access, and reducing health inequalities among women and girls.
- Develop and deliver education and training sessions for schools, healthcare professionals, and community organisations.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to improve referral pathways and access to services.
- Assess and support vulnerable individuals, ensuring appropriate safeguarding measures are implemented.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff and students.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to service development, quality improvement, and professional standards.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Teaching and Presentation skills
- Knowledge of girls and women’s reproductive health needs and issues, including menstrual health, preconception care and contraception
- Up to date knowledge on integrated sexual health needs
- Sound grasp of legislation, policies and guidance on confidentiality and safeguarding young people and adults

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Experience of working in Sexual Health as a NMP or using Patient Group Directions
- Experience of working with client groups from a diverse background
- Experience of delivering evidence based clinical care

### Qualifications and Education

**Essential**

- NMC Registered Nurse
- DFRSH / DCSRH Diploma
- STIF Intermediate & Advance Competencies*
- LoC SDI-IR (Letter of Competence Subdermal Implant Techniques Insertion and Removal)
- Practice Assessor/Supervisor Training

**Desirable**

- Equivalent qualifications for DFRSH Competencies will be considered during recruitment. Successful candidates would need to complete upon employment
- LoC IUT (Letter of Competence Intrauterine techniques)
