### Job summary

37.5 hours per week (internal only)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Ward Manager Team at Bretton Centre. This will be to cover Thornhill Ward. You will have significant post qualifying experience, demonstratable leadership skills with proven ability to manage change and drive high standards of care.

You will be enthusiastic about working with service users entering secure services that require assessment and treatment.

You will be motivated to lead changes to support the service users pathway of care and improving outcomes,

You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to independently make sound leadership and clinical judgments and regularly supervise the workload of colleagues. You will have established clinical experience at supporting individuals with complex presentations. The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary way, supporting each other in clinical decision making and especially promoting shared and joint decision making between different disciplines. You will be thoughtful and resilient in the way you engage with a multidisciplinary staff team in a busy team. You will need strong and effective communication skills, and a positive approach to service user and family, friends and carer engagement.

### Main duties of the job

The team manager post sits within the senior leadership structure. The post-holder will co-ordinate the day-to-day operational running of the team. They will ensure quality standards are met via audit, evaluation and supervision to the team, including supporting colleagues in appraisal and professional development. ### Job responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Post holder will be responsible for the effective day to day delivery of acute mental health services within the designated ward.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of resources and staff employed by SWYPFT to act in conjunction with service managers.

The post holder will be expected to have strong clinical and leadership skills and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality acute inpatient mental health care

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Management and Resources

The Team Leader will manage allocated resources on behalf of the trust to ensure that fundamentals of care are delivered.

Competencies

Provide day to day management of all staff within the inaptient team including sickness and absence monitoring, conduct and performance etc.

Ensure that team resources are deployed appropriately to meet the day to day demands on the service.

Ensure service provision meets the individual needs of service users and their carers within the personalisation, prevention and recovery agenda.
