An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our renal team as the Band 7 Ward Leader for J50 Female Renal Inpatient Unit, specialising in nephrology and renal transplantation.

### Main duties of the job

J50 is a dynamic and fast-paced ward caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those undergoing dialysis and post-transplant management. We are seeking a strong, compassionate leader to support and inspire a multidisciplinary team, drive clinical excellence, and uphold the highest standards of person-centred care.

Abdominal Medicine and Surgery (AMS) is the largest and most complex CSU at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). We provide acute and elective inpatient services, diagnostic services, see large numbers of outpatients and deliver life-long care. We have 14 inpatient ward areas located in Lincoln Wing and Bexley Wing at St Jamess Hospital, endoscopy units across three sites and 7 satellite dialysis units across West Yorkshire. What you will bring to the role

As the Ward Leader for J50, you will provide visible, supportive leadership while maintaining a strong clinical presence. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care to patients with complex renal conditions, including those undergoing dialysis and transplantation. The role includes overseeing day-to-day operational and staffing needs, ensuring effective workforce planning and team coordination. You will drive service development, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation in line with Trust and Renal strategy/priorities. A key part of the role is fostering a positive and inclusive culture that supports learning, accountability, and staff wellbeing. You will work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, including renal consultants, dialysis units, transplant coordinators, dietitians, and allied health professionals, to deliver patient-centred care and enhance outcomes across the nephrology and transplantation pathway.

### Qualifications and Training

- Willing to undergo training as necessary
