Job Summary The Specialty and Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit currently has an exciting new role for a full time Ward Clerk Supervisor vacancy across the Specialty wards. The post holder will work within a busy ward environment at St Jamess Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys the challenge of working in an environment where no two days are the same and who can provide management and administrative support to the wards within Specialty and Integrated Medicine. The Post-holder will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a large team of ward clerk staff on a day to day basis. The post holder must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people including patients, medical and nursing staff, other patient administration colleagues and other outside agencies in addition to other departments throughout the Trust.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist in the organisation of the ward clerk teams workload and provide a comprehensive clerical service to ensure the delivery of a coordinated and consistent operational management service. The post holder will be required to fill in the gaps on various wards and to provide cover in periods of sickness/ absence to the ward clerk team. A good standard of general education, previous clerical experience and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Previous experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams in a hospital environment would be an advantage.
