Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking to appoint a part-time, permanent Waiting List Coordinator to join the established team based at Canolfan Rheidol, Aberystwyth.

This role plays a key part in supporting the waiting list function, working closely with admissions staff to co‑ordinate, book and assess patients for planned operations, including more complex procedures. You will contribute to ensuring patients receive timely, well‑managed care throughout their pathway.

The post offers a varied and fulfilling workload and requires strong communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, their relatives, and members of the multidisciplinary team. Attention to detail, organisation and a patient‑focused approach are essential.

Applicants must hold RSA/OCR Level III or have equivalent, demonstrable typing experience, along with proven experience of working in an administrative or office environment. Knowledge of medical or healthcare terminology is essential, as is confidence in using patient database systems. Previous NHS experience is required.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week, worked over three days, with the specific working pattern to be agreed on appointment.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the Waiting List Management team, undertaking the role of Waiting List Coordinator and providing comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the Waiting List Manager / Referral to Treatment (RTT) Lead and the wider team.

Under the supervision of the Waiting List Manager, you will be responsible for the effective coordination of designated waiting lists, ensuring they are maintained accurately and efficiently.

The role requires regular handling of confidential health records, and you must demonstrate the ability to manage sensitive and confidential patient information appropriately, including clinical correspondence, investigations and test results.

As the first point of contact for your allocated waiting list specialties, you will liaise with Consultants and medical teams and respond to enquiries from GPs, patients, relatives, consultants and other hospitals, ensuring effective communication at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
