Our Cardiology services are some of the most advanced in the country, cover a range of services including our acute cardiology ward, angiography suite and our coronary care unit, which is the PPCI Centre for Norfolk. In addition to this we are the Norfolk Heart Attack Centre.

Join our welcoming Cardiology team as a Waiting List Co ordinator and play a crucial role in supporting patients through their diagnostic journey. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a busy department where excellent communication, accuracy and compassion make a real difference every day.

As part of our dedicated administration team, you’ll manage outpatient and day case diagnostic waiting lists, ensuring appointments are booked efficiently and clinical priorities are met. You’ll work closely with Consultants, Secretaries, Technicians and Nurses to keep services running smoothly, using PAS and Intellect to maintain accurate records and prepare clinics well in advance. You’ll also be a reassuring point of contact for patients, handling queries with sensitivity and professionalism.

### Main duties of the job

As a Waiting List Co ordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring Cardiology patients receive timely and well organised diagnostic care. You will manage outpatient and day case waiting lists, booking patients in line with clinical priority and ensuring all available lists are used effectively. Working closely with Consultants, Secretaries, Technicians and Nurses, you will help clinics run smoothly by maintaining accurate data on PAS and Intellect, preparing lists in advance, and ensuring that any changes are clearly communicated.

You will handle patient and GP queries with empathy and professionalism, often supporting individuals who may feel anxious or frustrated. You’ll also help validate waiting lists, update records following each patient contact, and investigate non attendances in accordance with Trust policy.

To succeed, you’ll need strong communication skills, accuracy in data entry, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a calm, patient focused approach. Being a supportive team member and consistently demonstrating our PRIDE Values is essential.
