Priory Hospital North London is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our established Addiction Treatment Programme, working as a self-employed private practitioner.This is an opportunity to develop your private practice within one of Priory’s leading specialist mental health and addiction services, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, consultant-led care to individuals experiencing a range of substance and behavioural addictions.As a self-employed Consultant Psychiatrist, you’ll have the opportunity to build and manage your own private patient caseload while benefiting from the infrastructure, clinical environment and established reputation of Priory Hospital North London.We can deliver intensive support for a range of addictions, including alcohol and drug addictions, as well as a number of addictive behaviours such as gambling, internet and shopping addictions.

### Key Responsibilities

### What you’ll be doing

- Providing specialist psychiatric assessments, diagnosis and treatment for individuals experiencing substance and behavioural addictions, including those with co-existing mental health conditions.
- Managing and developing your own private patient caseload, providing ongoing consultant-led care throughout each patient’s treatment journey.
- Developing individualised treatment plans and reviewing patient progress to ensure care remains responsive to their needs.
- Working collaboratively with our experienced multidisciplinary team, including therapists, psychologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Contributing to safe and effective detoxification and addiction treatment pathways, where clinically appropriate.
- Maintaining clear, accurate clinical records and working in line with relevant professional standards, clinical governance requirements and Priory policies.
- Building strong therapeutic relationships with patients and, where appropriate, their families or support networks.
- Contributing your specialist expertise to the wider clinical team and supporting a collaborative approach to delivering excellent patient outcomes.

You must be confident working autonomously, have strong problem-solving abilities, and be able to apply evidence-based practice in a practical, patient-centred manner.
