The role will involve working within outpatient clinics, supporting urologists in the diagnosis of patients by undertaking a range of urological procedures. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work alongside Specialist Nurses and Nurse Practitioners within the department, assisting with day case procedures and contributing to focused service development initiatives. The Clinic Nurse will be responsible for supporting patients and carers, ensuring the provision of appropriate verbal and written information. Clinics will include the care of patients with both benign and malignant urological conditions. Competence in catheterisation is a requirement of the role; however, training will be provided for the successful candidate if required. Ongoing professional and service development is essential. The post holder will be expected to actively engage in educational and clinical development opportunities and contribute to the continued development of the service, including nurse-led clinics.
