Are you an experienced Emergency Practitioner (EP) ready to make a difference University Hospital North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and autonomous clinician to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) team.  In this role, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients independently, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team and play a key role in clinical leadership, education, and service development. Your responsibilities will include participating in audits, teaching junior staff, and contributing to research and evidence-based practice.

### Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose, treat and discharge or refer patients without reference to a doctor and where appropriate prescribe medication.

Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care.

Assist and advise staff, both registered and unregistered in the delivery of patient care.

Contribute to and endorse a philosophy of care for the EP. working in the Emergency Department and the UTC.

Help develop and expand the service provided by EPs to be in-line with evidenced based practice (e.g., NICE guidelines).

To maintain and progress own knowledge and skills to practice effectively and safely.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this role, you will independently assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients presenting with minor injuries within the Urgent Treatment Centre. You will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based care, make autonomous clinical decisions, and escalate or refer to specialist teams when required. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to service development, clinical leadership, staff support, teaching, supervision, and audit activity. You will promote excellent communication, uphold Trust values, maintain professional standards, and support safe, effective patient flow within the UTC and the wider Emergency & Urgent Care Division.
