Specialty Registrar in General Surgery (Upper GI)

A Specialty Registrar position has become available within the General Surgery and Upper Gastrointestinal (Upper GI) Department at Ealing Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking department at a time of service expansion, including the introduction and development of robotic surgery. The department also benefits from well-established research platforms in Upper GI surgery, providing excellent opportunities for the successful candidate to develop both their clinical and academic surgical career.

### Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality clinical care to surgical patients in both emergency and elective settings.
- Participate in the full shift rota, including on-call duties, and contribute to ward rounds, outpatient clinics, weekly theatre lists, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Undertake the assessment, diagnosis, investigation, and management of patients presenting with surgical conditions.
- Support and contribute to the education, training, and supervision of junior medical staff and undergraduate medical students.
- Actively participate in clinical audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the department, and contribute to regular departmental activities, including mortality and morbidity meetings and journal clubs.
- Maintain a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) and ensure compliance with Trust policies, clinical governance standards, and national guidelines.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Trust standards.
