The Trust Grade Doctor will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered medical care for inpatients within community hospital services, including intermediate care, older persons’ rehabilitation, post-acute stroke rehabilitation, specialist neurological rehabilitation and end of life care.

The post holder will work within a consultant-led multidisciplinary team and will gain extensive experience in frailty, multimorbidity, complex disability management and rehabilitation-focused medicine.

The role provides an excellent development opportunity for doctors considering careers in rehabilitation medicine, geriatrics, stroke medicine, palliative care or general practice.

### Main duties of the job

Moseley Hall Hospital provides intermediate care for older adults, specialist rehabilitation for stroke and patients with complex needs after neurological conditions and trauma. West Heath Hospital provides intermediate care for older adults and End of Life provision.

These services form part of the Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust employs more than 5000 staff delivering over 100 clinical services for Birmingham and the West Midlands

- Minimum one year NHS experience in General medicine as a qualified doctor.

**Desirable**

- NHS Experience in the care of the elderly as a fully qualified doctor.

### Skills / Knowledge

- Ability to think creatively and prioritise
- Ability to debate complex issues with peers and senior colleagues as well as with subordinates
- Commitments to multidisciplinary working

### Qualifications / training

**Essential**

- Shall have full registration to the General Medical Council
- Shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
- Experience in the care of the elderly within the NHS
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
- Possesses and maintain professional registration &, where applicable, retain a current licence to practice.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge and understanding of clinical information and its impact on the service
