## Person Specification

### Higher Qualifications

**Essential**

- Full GMC Registration

**Desirable**

- Section 12 approval
- Full MRCPsych or equivalent

### Training Expected / Management & Audit

**Essential**

- Good and up to date understanding of principles and practice of psychopharmacology and psychological treatments in psychiatry.

**Desirable**

- Further training in any psychiatric specialty
- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience of quality improvement project

### Clinical Expertise in Specialty / Sub-Speciality

**Essential**

- Previous experience of working in services supporting people with learning disability and/or neurodevelopmental disorders (for example, via core training or previous trust grade positions)
- A minimum of 3 years postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in psychiatry or as a fixed term specialty trainee in psychiatry; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
- Risk assessment and risk management
- Clear understanding of equality act and reasonable adjustments

**Desirable**

- Engagement with annual appraisal process
- More than one year of experience working at ST4 level or above.
- Publications in the field of Psychiatry
- Management Skills
- Management Training
- Experience in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience working with different cultural backgrounds and beliefs
- Experience in multi-disciplinary teaching
