## Job Content

### Job overview

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce the development and introduction of these new, innovative, and exciting posts, which have been designed primarily for trainees who have successfully completed a Foundation Training Program and wish to undertake a 2-year ST1/2 equivalent training programme. Upon completion a 3rd year will be offered at IMT3 level should all competencies be met. Successful applicants will be supported to progress through the entire IMT curriculum whilst remaining within the trust for the entire duration of the programme.

### Main duties of the job

Duties will be based at Gloucester & Cheltenham sites and include full medical on calls including weekends, twilight and night shifts. These roles will enable the post holder to take supervised responsibility for patient care across a number of medical specialties and build upon the competencies gained during foundation training. As the post holder gains experience, they will remain under clinical supervision but take on increasing responsibility for patient care. In particular they will begin to make management decisions as part of their progress to independent practice and succeeding as a specialist registrar. During their tenure the post holder will further develop their core generic skills and contribute more to the education and training of the wider healthcare workforce. At the end of their tenure the post holder will have begun to demonstrate clinical effectiveness, leadership and the decision-making responsibilities that are essential for the next stage of their careers.
