At University Hospitals Plymouth we have a Comprehensive Neurology Service. This currently post in Neurology is based in Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Whilst not a training post, will work with the SpRs in the Peninsula Training Programme and your duties will be similar.

This is predominantly a clinical post, but you will be given a half day per week to pursue special interest activity. There is also separate time to undertake patient-related administration. The non-clinical time will be converted from day shift hours, with the clinical time consisting of the remaining in hours and the out-of-hours component of the rota.

### Education

**Essential**

- - Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice including:
- Good clinical care
- Maintaining good medical practice
- Good relationships and communication with patients
- Good working relationships with colleagues
- Good teaching and training
- Professional behaviour and probity
- Delivery of good acute clinical care
- Evidence of achievement of CT/ST1 competences in neurosurgery at time of appointment & projected completion of CT/ST2 competences in neurosurgery by time if appointment
- Evidence of operative experience in neurosurgery
- Eligibility to work in the UK

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- - MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Successful completion of MRCS or equivalent at time of application
