### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated ST3+ level Urology trainee or equivalent overseas-trained urologist to join a high-volume tertiary Urology Unit at The Royal London Hospital. The post is designed to provide advanced clinical and operative experience in Robotic Urology, Upper Tract Surgery, Endourology and minimally invasive techniques while contributing to a busy emergency and elective urology service.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work closely with nationally recognised consultants in robotic and upper tract surgery and will gain structured exposure to robotic-assisted pyeloplasty, partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy and reconstructive procedures using the Da Vinci Xi robotic platform.

The fellowship offers opportunities to develop operative autonomy, participate in multidisciplinary cancer care, undertake clinical research, contribute to quality improvement initiatives and gain experience in leadership, education and service development.

The post is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension to 24 months by mutual agreement.

- ST3+ level competency in Urology or equivalent overseas experience
- Demonstrable experience in emergency and elective urological practice
- Competence in the assessment and management of acute urological emergencies
- Experience managing critically ill surgical patients
- Fully competent in general urology procedures and perioperative care
- Experience assisting with laparoscopic and/or robotic surgery
- Experience in endourological procedures including ureteric stenting, ureteroscopy and stone management
- Evidence of safe and effective clinical decision-making

**Desirable**

- Fellowship-level experience in Endourology, Robotics or Laparoscopy
- Experience as robotic bedside assistant
- Console experience using the Da Vinci robotic platform
- Experience managing renal cancer, upper tract cancer or complex stone pathways
- Experience coordinating specialist referral pathways

### Qualifications

- Primary Medical Qualification (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) recognised by the GMC
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
- MRCS or equivalent postgraduate surgical qualification

**Desirable**

- FRCS (Urol) or equivalent recognised urological qualification
- Higher degree (MD, MSc, MRes, PhD or equivalent)
- Completion of Advanced Urology Training Modules
