Working autonomously and collaboratively within the wider maternity team, the Band 6 Triage Midwife delivers evidence-based care, supports women and their families in informed decision-making, maintains accurate documentation, and contributes to clinical leadership, service improvement, and the supervision and development of junior staff and students to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care. ### Main duties of the job We are seeking experienced and motivated midwives with a strong foundation in evidence-based midwifery practice and a commitment to delivering high-quality, woman-centred care. The applicant must be a registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and possess substantial post-registration experience across the maternity pathway. They will have a sound knowledge of normal and complex pregnancy, labour and postnatal care, with a thorough understanding of maternal and fetal assessment, risk identification, safeguarding, and emergency obstetric situations. Experience of working within a maternity triage environment and using the Birmingham Symptom-specific Obstetric Triage System (BSOTS) to assess clinical acuity and prioritise care is highly desirable.
