Treatment Expert Practitioner Band 8A

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treatment Expert Practitioner in CCC. They will work as part of a wider group of Expert Practitioners throughout the radiotherapy department. Treatment Expert Practitioners are required to have excellent leadership, communication, organisation and time management skills.

- Act as an expert practitioner, providing expert technical advice in treatment and particularly in own specialist technical area.
- Responsible for managing the day to day workload and working hours across the service.
- Responsible for the day to day staff management across the treatment service.
- Responsible for implementation of policy across own specialist area and the treatment service.
- Responsible for suggesting and implementing service development across own specialist area and the treatment service

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Up to date knowledge of current technologies in Radiotherapy
- Knowledge of current treatment techniques and developments
- Significant knowledge in a specialist area of Radiotherapy

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of current Health Service and Oncology specific legislation/plans

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant experience of managing teams including managing recruitment, performance, attendance and disciplinary issues
- Significant and broad experience as a therapeutic radiographer
- Significant experience of multi-disciplinary working

**Desirable**

- Experience of managing and implementing change
- Experience in a large radiotherapy department
- First line human resource management experience

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree or Diploma in Radiotherapy
- HCPC registration as Therapy Radiographer
- Qualification to MSc level in related subject
- Evidence of current and relevant CPD

**Desirable**

- Management qualification / study
