An exciting opportunity has become available to train as an Advanced Care Practitioner within the specialist fertility nursing team based at the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Knutsford.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative nurse who has a passion for fertility services and ensuring we provide people, couple and families with the very best chance of a successful pregnancy.

You will complete the Advanced Clinical Practice Masters course at a chosen HEI over a 2-3 year period (dependent on chosen course).  You must meet the HEI criteria for this Level 7 course - please view entry requirements for Liverpool John Moores and Edge Hill University on their websites.

### Main duties of the job

Job Summary

- Work as a clinical expert and role model and provide practice development and leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Use expert knowledge to investigate and manage patients referred for specialist fertility treatment
- Ensure that all interventions are based on scientific rationale, evidence based standards of care and current best practice guidelines and pathways.
- Demonstrate highly developed and advanced specialist knowledge and skills through innovative practice providing increased levels of autonomy.
- Support the Matron and wider members of the Divisional Management team in achieving the strategic objectives for the Care Group and the Trust.
- It is expected that the individual will work as a clinical expert and role model and provide practice development and leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment. They will act as a Specialist Fertility Nurse Practitioner
- The post holder maybe required to work within any of the satellite or transport centres as required.
- Provide autonomous Nurse-Led Fertility Clinic’s, Embryo Transfers and Trans-Vaginal and/or abdominal Ultrasound Scanning.
- Ensure that all four pillars of advanced practice are covered in the work undertaken in practice.

- Experience of working within the field of Reproductive Medicine
- Specialist expertise within Reproductive Medicine and experience of developing specialised programmes care providing specialised advice regarding care
- Experience of working as core member of multidisciplinary team
- Proposes policy or service changes, experience of protocol development within area

**Desirable**

- Delivering nurse led clinics within a Reproductive Medicine or General Infertility department
- Complaint Handling
- Counselling skills

### Physical Requirements

**Essential**

- Dexterity and accuracy required to perform clinical procedures associated with Embryo Transfers or Intra uterine inseminations.
- Ability to travel to place of higher education

### Education and Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered General Nurse- NMC
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist clinical training / short courses
- Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.
- Meets the HEI academic requirements for enrolling on an Advanced Practice MSc course
- Recognised teaching/ mentorship qualification ( ENB998 C&G 703 or equivalent)

**Desirable**

- Nurse Prescribing
- BFS Embryo transfer accreditation or experience
- BFS Trans-Vaginal and/or abdominal Ultrasound accreditation or experience

### Knowledge of Health & Safety Issues

**Essential**

- Knowledge and use of governance and risk assessment to improve quality and service development
- Safe use of equipment- management of competency assessments within area
- Knowledge of infection control policy and processes
- Promote positive reporting culture for incidents/ ACE’s
