## Job Content

### Job overview

This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin.

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Department to be part of a team of nurses and advisors treating patients with tobacco addiction. We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and pro active individual to work within our team of Tobacco Dependency Advisors.

### Main duties of the job

In line with the ambitions of the NHS Long term plan, we launched the Quit for Life team at RCHT, in 2023.  This role will support patients to be smoke free during an admission by assessing and treating nicotine dependence.  For those patients who want to stop smoking, you will work with them to plan their quit attempt and arrange ongoing support on discharge.

This is an important and impactful part of care for our patients who smoke realising both short and long term health benefits.
