Therapy Assistant – Young Adults Disability Team

Fixed Term Contract (to October 2027) – 35 hours per week

Location: Naas/Johnstown Co. Kildare

Therapy Assistant(s) Salary Scale - €32,891 to €41,227 annually

Part-time applications will be considered.

The Therapy Assistant will work as part of the Young Adults Team to support the delivery of person-centered services to young adults with complex disability needs. The Therapy Assistant may work with one discipline (Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Behaviour Support therapist) or may work across the therapies, depending on service and team needs and based on their knowledge, competencies and skill set. The Therapy Assistant is part of the inter-disciplinary team and will take part in team meetings, training, and developments. The role may include supporting projects and quality improvement initiatives that the team may be rolling out.

### Responsibilities:

- Follow plans as determined and delegated by the Clinical team, including assisting in the provision of education and advice on the use of enabling equipment, completing observations, data recordings, supporting the role out of staff training, providing administrative support to the team etc.
- Collaborate with the individual, their family, carers and other staff in the provision of support and advice.
- Supporting the triage of referrals, gathering information and requesting clinical reports to support the referral needs.
- Carry out duties related to the planning, organisation and maintenance of Therapy programmes
- Maintain accurate records of service user assessments and interventions & maintain clinical notes relating to clinical work in service user files in accordance with local service protocols.
- Maintain professional standards in relation to consent, confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
- Carry out the administrative and clerical duties required to support the Clinical Support Team.

### Requirements:

- Minimum FETAC Level 5 qualification in Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy / Speech & Language Therapy / Social Care / relevant area
- Experience working in a social care/intellectual disability setting
- An understanding of the role of the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist/Speech & Language Therapist/Behaviour Support therapist
- Competent computer and administrative skills
- Own transport and a Full, Clean Drivers Licence
- Be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
