We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Band 8a Therapeutic Radiographer - Treatment Review Section Lead with a special interest in Lymphoma.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Therapeutic Radiographer to provide both clinical leadership and operational management within our Treatment Review Service. The successful applicant will lead and support a team of Advanced Therapeutic Radiography Review Practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the radiotherapy pathway.

The role offers a balanced split of approximately 50% clinical practice and 50% senior leadership/management responsibilities, providing an excellent opportunity to influence service development while maintaining direct patient contact.

This is a full-time position, based at Guy's Hospital with 1 day per week scheduled to work at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.

### Main duties of the job

As Treatment Review Section Lead, you will provide clinical, professional, and operational leadership within our Treatment Review Service. Working closely with Consultant Clinical Oncologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will ensure patients undergoing radiotherapy receive expert assessment, advice, and compassionate support throughout their treatment journey.

The role includes a dedicated clinical commitment to supporting patients receiving radiotherapy for lymphoma, acting as a key point of contact and advocate to help optimise both patient experience and treatment outcomes.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will lead, line manage, and professionally supervise a team of Advanced Therapeutic Radiography Review Practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for supporting staff development, maintaining high standards of patient care, and driving service enhancements within the Treatment Review pathway.

As a member of the Radiotherapy senior management team, you will also contribute to the operational management, strategic direction, and ongoing development of the wider department. Working collaboratively with fellow section leads and senior colleagues, you will help shape service delivery, support departmental objectives, and ensure the provision of safe, effective, and patient-centred radiotherapy services.

## Person Specification

### Previous Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial post registration experience of working as a team leader in a Radiotherapy department.
- Substantial current experience of working within a treatment review setting
- Experience of supervising/line manager of a staff group
- Current experience of a wide range advanced Radiotherapy techniques e.g. SABR, DIBH, SRS
- Experience of teaching/training junior staff and students

**Desirable**

- Participation in Clinical Audit
- Experience of conducting staff appraisals
- Experience of clinical supervision
- Experience of writing for publication

### Skills and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Extensive knowledge of radiotherapy practice
- Demonstrate Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate staff to achieve their full potential.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication skills
- Demonstrate complex problem solving and decision making abilities

### Professional Registration

**Essential**

- HCPC Registered as Therapeutic Radiographer

### Education & Qualifications

- BSc, PgDip or DCR in Therapeutic Radiography
- Postgraduate MSc in therapeutic radiography or equivalent knowledge
- Non-medical prescribing certificate

**Desirable**

- Management or leadership qualification
- Project Management Qualification
