The role entails providing care to women and babies in the maternity recovery area following surgical procedures. The role would also include supporting  with theatre activity and the potential to develop role within operating theatre as theatre scrub practitioner. The post holder will assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programs of care for individual women/birthing people They will be involved in the preparation of theatre equipment and instruments. Responsible for maintaining asepsis intraoperative and compliance with WHO safety procedures. Ensures safety of the theatre and recovery environment including stock levels and storage of equipment. Provides support to students/learners within the unit Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining policies and standards of patient care related to preoperative and postoperative management.
