You will perform supportive roles alongside experts in the field in a busy but friendly environment using advance technology to care and serve our patients in different surgical specialties. Theatre experience will be an advantage, but in-housing training and education will be provided for suitable candidates to fulfill the role. You will also participate as part of the team to support the out of hours, weekend and night time emergency surgery after training. Newly appointed staff have a supernumerary induction period, supported by a Practice Development Nurse using our in-house competency documents. The department offers training and career development for our support workers. Upon successful completion of the theatre support worker competency programme, you will circulate for a range of procedures under supervision. You will also have a chance to learn to manage the instrument and stock supply for the department. As your confidence and knowledge grows you will take an active role in teaching newcomers 2 theatre support and Trainees.
